Disc Blaze System⬠Japanese retailer Beams has teamed up with Puma to produce a special edition Puma Faas 500 and it looks to be one of the best models that the brand puma suede has released this year. The resulting sneaker is a black mass of high tech mesh and plastic that looks as vicious as ever. The Disc lacing system provides a bit of gloss to the sneakers upper that is composed of neoprene and mesh. These will be releasing sometime in the near future exclusively through Beams so if you want a pair they will probably be hard to get.

The designer chose to place White rubber spheres along the upper of each suede shoe and the results are both jarring and intriguing all at once. Black leather accents are seen running along puma sliders the side panels of each sneaker and a metal plate is placed near the ankle as a finishing touch. No word yet on availability but expect them to be limited.

The only other detail to note was the ankle padding.Initially, it felt a little too padded and was irritating to my ankle. However, this sensation was an after thought after wearing them a second day.Final Thoughts:Puma decision to refresh the Clyde line was welcomed by many in the sneaker community, especially those with hip-hop roots that know how important the Clyde was in shaping the fashion scene. The Clyde Script with its premium suede upper, the leather touches over the logo, and its gold Puma Clyde branding make for a solid silhouette. Its basketball roots make for a comfortable wear that will last throughout the shoes lifetime. The build quality is solid and the color combinations that I have seen only further the timelessness of the sneaker. With roots in 1968 and a style /performance bump courtesy of the ultimate in cool, Walt Clyde Frazier, in 1973, the Puma Clyde is a tough sneaker to beat at its price point.
